Partnerships
We are the pioneers in Africa having the first collaboration agreement signed with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) to support knowledge transfer and capacity development.
We have an ongoing collaboration agreement with Rotterdam's premier tax training centre to partner on capacity building projects to assist developing countries to build and develop their tax academies and tax programs with the purpose of increasing tax revenue and improving their investment climate. Together we have trained the:
- Tax Appeals Tribunal (Kenya)
- Botswana Unified Revenue Service
- STAN Polytechnic of State Finance (PKN Stan University, Indonesia)
We have partnered with ILP to advance economic justice through tax and the rule of law. We have worked together to design a training project on the taxation of extractives sector. Our Chair also sits on ILP's Advisory Board.
We have an engagement with the South Centre to produce policy briefs focusing on key policy issues to support developing countries to effectively participate in international negotiating processes that are relevant to international taxation.
Funding
Foundation Open Society Institute
We have received over USD 500,000 in grant funding from FOSI to conduct research and improve capacity development through tax training programs.
GIZ has supported us with EUR 49280 to conduct research on collective invesment vehicles.
We have received USD 100,000 in grant funding from OSIEA to support research, clarity and participation in fiscal policy making on debt and human rights.
We have received USD 10,000 from Oxfam International to undertake a study on tax incentives and aggressive tax planning.
